The City of Danville is currently constructing a wastewater improvement project. The project is the Northwest Sanitary Sewer Service Area Reconstruction Project. The project will serve the houses west of Lake Vermilion by reconstructing the sanitary sewers and lift stations serving the area. The Water Pollution Control Loan Program will be funding the majority of the project costs with local funds supplementing the remaining. The loan will be repaid over a 20 year period at a rate of 1.35%. The project consists of the reconstruction of two sanitary lift stations, construction of a new terminal sanitary sewer lift station, and the elimination of a sanitary sewer lift station. The project also reconstructs the gravity sewers and sanitary forcemains in the service area. The project will improve the efficiency and reliability of the sewers serving the Northwest Sanitary Sewer Service Area.
For questions about this project, contact Sam Cole, City Engineer at 217-431-2321.
