CITY OF DANVILLE, ILLINOIS Engineering, a Division of Public Works Roads & Bridges - a continuous work in progress! This new page will link our citizens to all of the new road and bridge activities in Danville! We plan to have an interactive portion where you can be involved in the decisions being made regarding your streets. You may submit information about roads that need repair and even suggest the type of repair. You may also sign up to participate in the design process for future projects. Please check back often as this page will change frequently. Thank you for your continued support and drive safely!
Streets to be overlaid this next fiscal year in order
of priority: Townway, Winter Avenue (Jackson to Monterey), Hazel (English to
Williams, Harrison to Main), Seminary (Washington to Vermilion) and
Fairchild (Logan to Gilbert) and any other final areas pending final costs. Recent Suggestions: (The following suggestions & comments are taken directly from our citizens and have not been edited.) April 26th - July 8th: Street: Old Ottowa Road, Intersection1: Demark Road,Intersection2: Denvale West Entrance, Solution: Overlay, Comments: Road has lost shape over the years. Seems to be narrowing....no drainage ditch gravel etc for water to run off. Street: Bowman Ave. , Intersection1: Voorhees, Intersection2: Liberty Lane, Solution: Total replacement Complete pavement, curb & gutter, driveway aprons, drainage systems, sidewalks and ramp replacement, Comments: Bowman ave. is another road in need of repair. The truck traffic for Walmart and most of the other business in the north side has taken its toll on this road. It has been in need of repair for at least 20 years, and now that Bowman sees more truck traffic than Vermilion this road should be made to handle this high and heavy traffic load safely. Street: Alley entrance off of Columbia for North Sherman,Intersection1: Columiba,Intersection2: 1406 N Sherman, Solution: Other, Comments: I have called about this but got no call back. Five families use this alley multiple time daily and the alley is separating very badly. I have had my car actually slip into the rut and bottom out. This damaged spot is about 4 inches wide and about, 10 to 12 foot long. It is shaped like a curvy snake. I need this alley to get in and out of my house. I do not want to incur car repair due to this alley. Thank you for looking into this for me and my neighbors. April 21 - 25th Street: Oregon, Intersection1: Main, Solution: Overlay, Comments: the intersection is very rough coming off of Main to Oregon Street: Sheral Drive, Intersection1: Vermilion & Sheral,
Intersection2: Sheral & Melanie Street: Voorhees St., Intersection1: Bowman Ave., Intersection2: Koehn Dr., Solution: Overlay, Comments: The bumps in the road are horrible and feel like you could pop a tire driving over them. Street: Columbia, Intersection1: Vermilion to the West, Solution: Overlay Street: Walnut, Intersection1: Voorhees, Intersection2: Roselawn, Solution: Overlay Street: Liberty Lane, Intersection1: Vermilion, Intersection2: Turtle Run, Solution: Overlay Street: Boling Springs, Intersection1: Vermilion,
Intersection2: Bayview Dr.,Solution: Other Street: Oak Street, Intersection1: Voorhees, Intersection2: Roselawn, Solution: Overlay Comments: Some areas will require some substantial "patching" before the overlay is applied. Street: Golf Terrace, Intersection1: Park Haven,
Intersection2: Golf Circle, Solution: Total replacement Street: Golf Terrace, Intersection1: Park Haven,
Intersection2: Golf Circle, Solution: Total replacement Street: Franklin, Intersection1: Roselawn, Intersection2: Voorhees, Solution: Patch. Comments: The entire road needs redone, but the potholes will have to do Street: Avenue F, Intersection1: Bensyl, Intersection2: Avenue F, Solution: Overlay, Comments: Street has a rise in the middle and lower on the oter edges, water accumulates into yards. Road needs to be leveled. Street: All of Holiday Hills, Solution: Total replacement, Comments: My parents moved to Holiday Hills when I was 1, I am now 29 and moved away. I cannot remember ever seeing a road replaced, and they are terrible. Years ago, there was a sewage line dug up across Westview at Holiday. It was filled with GRAVEL and covered with OIL AND ROCK. Just another example of shoddy Dan-vile work. This city government needs to quit dropping to their knees for the low-lifes of this town and take care of its honest, contributing citizenship. Street: Kentucky, Virginia, Utah, Griffin, etc. Solution: Total replacement, Comments: Everything is OLD. The streets are falling apart. The curbs are falling apart. My driveway apron, as well as others, are crumbling. For once, help out the honest, tax paying citizens. Street: Woodbury, Intersection1: vermilion, Intersection2: logan, Solution: Overlay ~~ April 14th - 18th: Street: Winter Street, Intersection1: Bowman, Intersection2: Back way to Voorhees, Solution: Patch Street: Timberline, Intersection1: Crestview, Intersection2: Westview, Solution: Patch Street: Perrysville rd, Intersection1: bowman, Intersection2: Indiana, Solution: Patch Street: Voorhees St., Intersection1: Voorhees at Michigan, Intersection2: south side of Michigan from Voorhees, Suggested Repair: Patch Street: Walnut Street 1300-1500 block, Intersection1: Voorhees, Intersection2: Roselawn, Solution: Patch Street: Voorhees,

The bumps and pot holes damage our cars and we are already low income and need all the help to maintain our cars as we cant afford the repairs. Street: Williams St., Intersection1: Kansas, Intersection2: logan, Solution: Overlay. Comments: A high traffic road that carries major traffic across town in much need of repair. Street: East Main, Intersection1: Kansas, Intersection2: Nicholas St., Solution: Total replacement. Comments: You managed to do all of it except the true east end and its like we dont exist. We pay taxes like everyone else, we are lowest of income, we are struggling just to feed our children and have heat at the same time. Yet we are not good enough to have decent road work that the rest of the city got to help maintain our cars that we cant afford. Street: Franklin Street, Intersection1: Main Street,

Street: Bates Drive, Intersection1: Batestown Rd.,
Intersection2: entire first block or two Street: Juliana Drive, Solution: Patch, Comments: Bad potholes Street: Wisconsin Ave. Intersection1: Main Street, Intersection2: Williams, Solution: Overlay Comments: This street has developed so many potholes, kids can't play, and motorcycles can't drive down it anymore. But, the garbage trucks and semis which go down it 5-6 times pers day can. And they are destroying what little of the street was left. Street: Sunset Ridge in Holiday Hills area, Intersection1: Hillside, Intersection2: Crestview and a block past that, Solution: Total replacement, Comments: Please look back in your records and you will find a complaint on this street signed by everyone living here at the time. The original single complaints began when Mayor Jones was in office. The concrete coming up is dangerous a vehicle has already caused a broken front window, that was a couple of years ago. Now kids pick up these pieces of concrete coming up sometimes so big they have to use to hand to pick up and throw at other kids and whatever else they choose to throw them at. Someone is going to be seriously hurt. The street sweeper goes down the middle for fear of making too big a hole picking up the loose concrete. Inspectors should have made them redo this street when it was poured because it wasn't even enough for regular cars let alone the BIG CRIS bus and the school buses that now use it. Does someone have to get hurt before something is done and this repair taken seriously? Street: Bates Drive, Intersection1: Batestown Road, Solution: Overlay
